Purchasing a Copy of Chew on This
April 7th, 2010 at 14:26As I mentioned in class, we’ll be reading Chew On This after spring break, and I wanted you to have time to purchase your own copy in time. Some students enjoy having their own personal copy to underline, make margin notes, etc., for further understanding and appreciation of the text. This will allow you to have a real-life opportunity to practice the marking text skills we practiced in class during the last unit. There are used copies available on Amazon for as cheap as $1.73 .
I only have one class set, so you will not be allowed to take a book home to make-up any missed reading. You will have to come in before/after school or Seminar if you miss.
This is of course only optional, and there is no class requirement for buying a copy.

My mom thinks that buying this is required (I may have had something to do with that), so I will have a copy. Besides, I was fresh out of reading material, all I had left was “Team of Rivals” by Doris Kearns Goodwin. It’s a 700+ page book on, “The political genius of Abraham Lincoln” was a “gift” from my dad. I might read it someday, but I’m not that desperate right now.

Hey Mr. Coia. We read “To Kill a Mockingbird” and we just finished “Freak the Mighty” and they were both so sad.

Two great books. I haven’t taught either, but I want to. Thanks for your comment.
